What people use our prints for

We do exactly one thing — 3D printing — but it solves very different problems. These are the applications we are asked for most, with what works and what does not.

We only offer 3D printing. No injection moulding, no machining, no electronics assembly — if your part needs any of those, we say so before charging you.

Electronics enclosures

Boxes, lids, front panels and mounts for your board or instrument, as one-offs or short runs.

Where it works well

  • Enclosure prototypes before committing to a mould
  • Runs of 1 to 500 units, where tooling never pays for itself
  • Front panels with custom cut-outs for connectors and displays

Where it stops

  • Certified sealing. We can design a gasket channel, but we certify no IP rating.
  • EMI shielding. Plastic does not shield; you will need conductive paint or a metal box.
  • Equipment running above 95 °C inside. Not even ABS holds up there.

Robotics and drones

Sensor mounts, chassis, grippers and gearbox housings in light technical plastics.

Where it works well

  • Sensor, camera and LIDAR mounts with exactly the geometry you need
  • Drone frames and arms, where every gram counts
  • Custom grippers and end effectors for one specific object

Where it stops

  • Gears transmitting real torque. A printed gear works in a mock-up; under load in a reducer it eats its own teeth.
  • Structural parts under constant load. Plastic creeps, and months later the part has sagged.
  • Anything sitting against a hot motor, if it is PLA. Use PETG or ABS there.

Letters and signage

Dimensional letters, logos and signage for shops, offices, events and weddings, at the exact size and colour.

Where it works well

  • Dimensional letters for indoors: shops, offices, trade stands, weddings
  • Raised logos, in the exact brand colour
  • Door and office signage, with numbers and pictograms

Where it stops

  • Assembled illuminated signs. We can print the housing and the diffuser; the electrical work is not ours.
  • Letters over 250 mm in one piece. They get split and bonded, with the joint hidden on an edge.
  • Outdoors in PLA. A PLA letter on a south-facing façade will sag through a Barcelona summer.

Models and architecture

Massing studies, competition models and product prototypes made to be shown to a client, not binned.

Where it works well

  • Massing studies: the building in your hand, fast and cheap
  • Competition models with façades, openings and floor-by-floor breakdown
  • Product prototypes to validate form, feel and proportion before tooling

Where it stops

  • Large single-piece models. Anything over 250 mm gets split, and a big model means many pieces and a lot of assembly.
  • Detail below 0.4 mm in FDM. A 1:200 handrail will not print: that is what resin is for.
  • True transparency. We do not print glazing; it is solved with an opening and cut acrylic.

Spares and broken parts

The part that broke and the maker no longer sells: knobs, clips, covers, gears, appliance brackets.

Where it works well

  • Knobs, dials and handles for discontinued appliances
  • Plastic clips, tabs and anchors that have snapped
  • Covers, grilles and trim nobody makes any more

Where it stops

  • Safety parts. No brakes, seat belts, child-seat anchors, helmets or ladders. No exceptions.
  • Trademarked parts for resale. We reproduce a spare for your own appliance, not runs of another brand’s parts.
  • Parts under pressure, gas, or hot pressurised water. Printed plastic has layers, and layers are where it splits.

RC, modelling and toys

Spares and upgrades for RC cars, boats and drones, scale model parts, and toys that survive a child.

Where it works well

  • RC spares that break often: bumpers, towers, servo mounts
  • Drone parts: camera mounts, prop guards, landing legs
  • Bodies and model details that no kit contains

Where it stops

  • Toys for under-3s. We do not certify EN 71, and a small printed part can break into swallowable pieces.
  • High-torque drivetrain gears. A printed pinion in a 1:8 brushless lasts one afternoon.
  • Parts living in a car parked in the sun. PLA sags; PETG or better is required.

Jigs and displays

The parts nobody sells because they only suit your workshop: templates, stops, soft jaws and shop displays.

Where it works well

  • Drill templates that put holes in the right place, a thousand times over
  • Assembly fixtures: cradles, stops and locators for a line
  • Soft jaws shaped to your part, so it does not get marked

Where it stops

  • Fixtures taking machine loads. A milling vice jaw in plastic, no; a soft jaw to hold without marking, yes.
  • Drill guides without a metal bush. The bit eats the plastic within a dozen holes: a bush has to go in.
  • Uncoated food contact. Layer lines trap residue and none of our filament is food certified.

Where it works well

  • Keyrings, pins and tags with your logo, in your brand colour
  • Awards and internal trophies, each with the winner’s name on it
  • Phone stands, coasters and desk pieces for trade fairs

Where it stops

  • Large runs. Above roughly 500 identical units, injection moulding or laser engraving costs less, and we will say so.
  • Anything touching food or drink: mugs, cups, coasters that get wet. Layer lines trap residue and none of our filament is food certified.
  • Merch that is not plastic. No shirts, pens, notebooks or USB sticks: only the printed piece.
